The Exit 8 was developed by Kotake Create, a solo developer from Japan.
Taking inspiration from a meal you might find on a Japanese train, pair your game with a meal of eskisoba (“station soba”)
Make a simple broth, add your soba noodles, and whatever toppings you like. We also recommend getting a bottle of sake to enjoy with dinner and your game!
Ambiance ✨
As this game includes horror elements, turn the lights low and get lost in the platform.
It’s also handy to have a notebook nearby, in case you want to take note of any anomalies you find or write out a description of places to check in each new platform.
Extras 🎉
If you’re feeling like going the extra (subway) mile, host an Exit 8 party! Invite friends over to play them game, then recreate it with your own home & DIY anomalies.
- Pick a room in your home to serve as your “platform”
- You can hang posters or use a strobe light to give off that underground-subway feel
- Have your friends enter the room and try to memorize it to the best of their ability
- Once they leave the room, you go in and make an anomaly (Ex: draw on the posters, turn something upside down, flood the room with red lights)
- Have your friends re-enter the room and see if they can discover the anomaly and pass to the next “platform”
- Do as many anomalies as you’d like!

Challenges 👀
We challenge you to play with a partner, but only one person knows what the platform is supposed to look like:
- Start the game with only one player getting to see the “original” platform.
- That player then has to describe what the platform looks like to the second player
- It’s up to Player 2 to find the hidden anomaly based off Player 1’s description
